More Celeste and Twins Info

Celeste and Kris's twins Jaxson and Shaun arrived via c-section early yesterday afternoon. All are doing well! Jaxson weighed in at 5 pound exactly and is 16-17 inches long and Shaun was 3 lbs. 13 oz and also 16-17 inches long. They are at the University of Colorado 12605 East 16th Ave. Aurora CO. Room #414 (720) 848-0000. I just spoke to Celeste this morning and both babies are in the NICU but breathing on their own and doing so good! They are monitoring Jaxson and watching a valve in his heart that is not working properly but expect all to be well. I know they would love and appreciate hearing from all of you!

I don't know all the details, I just know Celeste had here boys today. They are all doing great. The boys are small but doing great! More info. to follow.

Celeste and Kris Email Update

Here is an email we received from Celeste and Kris yesterday, so that all of you can stay informed:

Hey guys, just wanted to give you all a quick update. We were in the hospital in Denver for the last week and a half; but for the last few days the boys fluid levels were looking consistently stable, so they decided not to take them yet and not to remove any fluid from their sacks because the chances are high that it would push me into labor, and since they're looking stable right now they don't want to risk anything. My doctor said that if we wanted to check out of the hospital, stay in Denver and come in a few times a week we could; or we could go home, go down there once a week and be seen in Cheyenne a couple of times a week. So we're back home right now. The doctor's said they don't feel comfortable leaving them in me for more than 36 weeks; so as long as I can not go into labor in the next two weeks, they should make it till then; which is a LOT longer than we could've ever hoped for, so that means less time in the N.I.C.U.! YAY! So that's everything going on now; and we'll be letting everyone know when they get here. -(whenever that is.) News Flash!

For those of you who don't know, Celeste and Kris are now in the hospital in Denver awaiting the arrival of their twins Jackson and Sean. She is 32 weeks and will remain in the hospital on bedrest until the babies come. Things are looking well for them but it is still a touchy situation. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers over upcoming days. In addition, Justin and I would like to thank all of you who made it to Mom and Dad Hill's 60th Birthday Celebration. It was a great time! I will upload a few photos soon!

Birthday Brunch!

Annual Easter Hunt

Itseems to be a tradition to hunt for candy after dinner on Easter Sunday. Between Lori and myself, we seems to have plenty of goodies for all my grandkids and her girls. Sometimes, the older girls hide the candy but since they're seniors this year we wanted them to join in the fun, too. It was a bit cold and a little wet and the yard was still in its winter state but we had a great time! This is what family is all about, right?

Francom Princesses

As I was downloading picture from my camera to share Nickie's pictures, I realized that I had a lot of cute pictures. Last Sunday, we went to Lyle's place to celebrate his 46th birthday. Yes, even Lyle is finally getting "older!" However, he stopped the night with the thought that he was now the same age our dad was when he passed away. I think we all suddenly realized how young our father really was when he died. Of course, it didn't seem like he was that young at the time because we were just children and parents were supposed to be "old."

Brooke and Brittany had been to the prom on Saturday night so they took all the little girls upstairs to try on their prom dresses. Brooke and Brittany were so sweet because they knew that all the girls dreamed of being princesses and this was almost like that dream-come-true! Just look at the girls and their BIG smiles. Thanks, Brooke, Brittany, and Maddie for making this a fun time for the girls.

Peter Bruhn Isom Joins the Family!

Rick and I went out to Tooele on Saturday between General Conference sessions to see Nickie and her family. Her new baby boy is so small and sweet. Of course, he slept the whole time we were visiting. He looks like a good mixture of Savannah and Loral. He gets his middle name from a line on Chris' side that never had any boys to carry the last name of Bruhn so he's making some people happy! The girls were gone with Chris when we got there but when they arrived home they had plenty of loves and kisses for little Peter. Today is Loral's third birthday so they had gone and bought a birdfeeder with a bag of seeds to feed the birds--she loves birds! It's fun thinking of her watching the birds on her new feeder. It was fun to see how the girls had grown and we enjoyed being among the first in the family to see our new addition.

Chase finally has boy cousins!!!

I am sure that Linsey has her hands full, so I thought that I would share with everyone some new pictures of their new addition--everyone meet Austin Benjamin Rich born February 21, 2008. I personally think he looks like a mini Ben. I can't believe how much Abigail has changed since we saw them during the Thanksgiving holiday, and how much she totally looks like Linsey with blonde hair. We hope you guys are doing well over there in Japan.

I don't have pictures, but Nickie also had her little boy on Marcy 28, 2008. Or as Loral told everyone in my ward at church on Sunday, "Our baby, he came out!!" Congratulations!

I'm glad to see that within two months the odds are becoming more favorable that my son will not be dressed like a princess during family get togethers, now that he has two boy cousins to ward the girls off with swords, bugs, and other "yucky" things.

Another two years to go . . .

I just had to take a second to brag about my husband. We recently found out that we will be spending another two years here at the University of Utah because . . . Brad has been accepted into the Graduate Architecture Program! I am so proud of all his endless (and I mean literally endless) work in school.

He also will be receiving his Bachelor's degree on May 2, 2008. All are invited to attend. E-mail us if you would like more information on the graduation ceremony and reception following the event.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter holiday! We were lucky enough to have Great Grandma Beecher and Great Grandma Hill over for Easter dinner and an egg hunt with the children. It was a special time for us to be able to share with them!

Derrin was working yesterday in the East and had dinner and lodging with Amy and family.
Some of you have heard Mother say that Bill Foley recently had a fall and was injured. Yesterday he died. Today Weldon and I talked with Joan. She said he went peacefully. He
was a good man. Tuesday and Wednesday we were with Celeste and Kris at Cheyenne WY.
The doctor said all look's good. We are praying for them and Jayden and family. Love til next.

Sharing Josh's Day!

It was so much fun to see Josh after two years. No wonder his family is all smiles as they welcomed him home at the airport! On Sunday, February 24th, we all gathered at Lynn and Lori's home in time to carpool over to the 1:00 Sacrament Meeting. The Beecher/Shumway clan took up about four prime rows in the middle of the chapel. There were four speakers in the meeting but Josh was by far the highlight for us. We learned about his time on the island of Lae(?) in the Marshal Islands. (They are located about 2,000 miles southwest of Hawaii.) He taught us a lot about being obedient in all we do. We all would have loved to have heard much more about his two years but we'll just have to invite him to a private one-on-one discussion to make that happen.

We had both Grandma Shumway and Grandma Atwood there as well as Katie, Bran and family, and Yok. Then, there were several aunts and uncles from both sides and lots of cousins and kids. By the time we went back to the house we were lots of people with big appetites! Lynn and Lori had lots of good food and plenty of cookies to finish the meal. I was very impressed at the importance of so many coming from far away with lots of children. We are a great family that lends so much support--this is one of our best kept secrets of success, right?

One thing Lynn and Lori need to share is the birth of their newest grandson, Austin. Lynn was a proud grandpa on Sunday as he shared this news but I don't remember any of the details so we hope to hear from them soon. I do remember that Linsey and baby are doing wonderful and they have Ben's parents to help until Linsey gets on her feet. Congratulations to you all and we are so happy that all went well. Pictures, anyone?

We have been in contact with Tonya as well as Kent and Pat and are hoping for the best with their little Jaden Giovanni Rivera. It sounds like each day is filled with new challenges of highs and lows. You are in our thoughts and prayers, Tonya and Emerson.

Thanks for all everyone is doing to keep this blog going. It's a wonderful way to share and stay informed. We need to keep hearing about Celeste and Chris so keep the news coming. You, also, are in our thoughts and prayers.

It sure was fun to see everyone that came to Cedar City on Sunday. We all enjoyed a good talk, some good food and most of all each other. That could be the last missionary to go, unless we get some of the girls to go. Thanks to everyone for your help and we love you all and pray for all Vern Rubies with each of our trial that all of our family are going through.

Just wanted to say hello to everyone and give a little family update. Many of you know that our little Abby who is 18 months was diagnosed with total blindness in her left eye just a few days before Thanksgiving. She underwent a cataract removal and lens transplant on December 12th at Primary Children's. She is recovering very well and begining to regain sight in that eye! She got her bifocals last week and we think she looks beautiful in them. We are so grateful for the love and support of our friends and family as well as the technology to make this happen. We are getting settled into our new home well. It is great to have the extra space and we are having fun painting and decorating our new home. For those of you who do not know, we bought Weldon and Gean's previous home in Orem. I am now 3 min. from work! Our boys are growing up so quickly and enjoy going to preschool each day. I think everyone in our family (including our dog and cat) are READY for Spring. I've included a few recent photos of our family. Hope to talk to everyone soon!

Recent Email Update on Celeste and Babies

Hello again! Congratulations to Tonya and family on the birth of their baby boy. You all continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. I thought I would forward an update I received from Celeste today regarding their twins and current health situation. Have a great Day! Mindy Hill

Hey everyone! As most of you know we went to Seattle last week so the twins and I could have surgery for their "twin to twin transfusion syndrom". We just had our check up with the Dr. and this is what we found out: Jaxson is doing well. His heart rate has slowed, so he's not over producing anymore. The only problem is that he is still very small for his age. Shaun, on the other hand, has not had the results we were hoping for. He is able to pee, his heart rate has increased so he is able to produce more fluid than before (although it is still not enough), and he has more room to spread out now. However; he has not gained the weight we were anticipating. While Jaxson is small, Shaun is even smaller still. He is 12 oz. which puts him at the bottom 2%of where he should be (even counting in the fact that he's the smaller twin.)So here's what the Dr.'s are predicting at this point: I will continue on bedrest, and be closely monitored for the next 3 weeks. After which I will be moved into the hospital, until delivery. Before the surgery, we had hoped I'd be able to make it to my 32 week before delivering the twins. Now the Dr.'s think that it is highly unlikely that they will let me go untill then. Which means that the chances of us having two boys born sometime in the next 6 weeks are good. They don't want to have to be delivering a 1 lb. baby, but at the rate Shaun has been growing lately; I'm just praying that he'll be at least 2 lb.'s. By then Jaxson should be over 2 lb.'s, maybe even 3 lb.'s with any luck. Anyway, that's what we know so far. The best news of this is that they are no longer getting progressively worse; like they were before the sugery. They are on a slow and steady increase, and we can't wait to see how much they continue to improve! Hope you know how much love you all, and think of you! If there are any prayers or thoughts you could send to my babies, you'll have the gratitude of their mother and father forever. Also; Thank you So Much for all the phone calls! Talking to all of you truely helps to take my mind off of things, makes me feel good to know that you're thinking about my sweet babies! Thanks again everyone! Have a great day! Baby Jayden Rivera is born...

Tonya and Emerson Rivera are happy to welcome the arrival of their son,

Born: Thursday, Feb. 7th, 2008

Weight: 7 lbs

Baby Jayden was sent to Primary Children's Hospital in SLC.

He had a minor surgery on Friday, Feb. 8th

to repaiar a bowel blockage and recieve a colostomy.

Baby is scheduled to have heart surgery on Monday, Feb. 11th.

Tonya remains at LDS Hospital to recover from cesarean delivery

and travels between the two hospitals to check on Jayden.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Tonya is due very soon! She has a scheduled c-section on February 7th, so please keep her in your prayers. I will let you know how she and baby are as soon as I hear, if we don't hear from her fam first. Good luck Tonya! :)

Thank you Hills for the postings on Celeste. It is good news that she has options and solutions now available to her twins. You are in our thoughts and prayers as well Celeste. Hope you find some good books while on bed rest, hang in there!

Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley Passes Away

Gordon B. Hinckley, 15th President of the Church, has a great love and concern for all people. He has traveled all over the world to meet with the Saints and to tell them that God "will shower down blessings upon those who walk in obedience to His commandments." President Hinckley has dedicated more temples than any other General Authority.

He passed away around 7pm, Sunday January 27,08 at age 97. He was surrounded by his family and his death was attributed to old age. We remember him with great love!

Some Good News from Celeste and Kris

Hi again, here is an encouraging message we recieved from Celeste today and an update on their twin's situation:
Hey everyone! Just thought I'd give you all a little update on the twins. As most of you know, I'm on bed rest and am unbale to travel to Utah; like we had planned. We got some good news today! The doctors now think there is a sack division; which means, in addition to having twin to twin transfussion syndrom, they also have what's called "Stuck Twin". This is actally GREAT news! Both of these are conditions with possible solutions! To help with the "Stuck Twin" condition, they will withdraw a large amount of the amniotic fluid from twin "A's" sack, which should allow twin "B's" sack to expand and stop being compressed; it should also help me to stop going into constant labor! As for the twin to twin transfussion syndrom, there are several hospitals around the country who use different opperations to adjust both the twins cords, so that twin "A" can stop recieving large amounts of blood and twin "B" can start recieving more blood flow, which he needs. An Update About Celeste and Kris

Hello all! This is Justin's wife Mindy. We were excited to let all of you know that Celeste and her husband were expecting twins a few weeks ago. Well, now they need your prayers. She is about 21 weeks and they have discovered that the babies (both boys) have something called Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome. The babies are sharing a single placenta and thus blood circulation. As a result, it is possible for her to lose one or both babies as both are fighting over blood supply. We remain steadfast in the belief that Heavenly Father is watching over them. It is very possible that she will be put on bedrest ASAP and that the babies may be delivered as soon as 24 weeks. They will travel to Denver this week to see a specialist and gain further information about the condition and where to go from here. Please keep them in your prayers and I know they would greatly appreciate any emails or phone calls. Kris is away during much of the week with his duties in the military. As many of you know, pregnancy can be a difficult time even if everything goes perfectly. I can't image what this must feel like with your first baby or babies! Also our thoughts and prayers go out to the Rivera family and their baby. We continue to have all of you in our constant thoughts.

Happy Birthday, Dear Grandma.....

On Grandma's birthday, January 5th, Rick and I went to her place in the early evening to help her put her Christmas decorations away and take her out to dinner. Just as we were about to leave, Carie showed up with her two girls. She brought Grandma a beautiful bouquet of flowers and one of those new tiles with the saying on them. (I'm sure there is a name for them!) Carie's visit sure meant a lot to Grandma. Afterwards, we met Gean and Weldon in downtown Salt Lake at The Garden restaurant. We enjoyed the evening and we visited and ate dinner. In honor of her special day, she was given a big piece of chocolate cake that we all enjoyed--YUM! Grandma told us that this was the best birthday she ever remembered! She said many of you remembered to call her. She said her phone rang all day long--she was so happy! You know, it's not everyday that you turn 85 years young!!!

The following Sunday, we celebrated again with some of her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Since Angie's birthday is January 3rd we had double the reasons to "PARTY!"

Elder Joshua Beecher coming home

Hi to all Vern Rubies family,

We have just recieved Joshua's return date and the Sunday he will be speaking in Sacrament Meeting. Feb. 20th he will be flying for two days, but all of the flying will be done on the 20th. He has been serving in the Marshallees Majuro Mission and has had, "The Other Side of Heaven" experience. The date he will be speaking is Feb. 24th at 1:00 pm. We would like to invite all to come an enjoy the day with us in Cedar City.

Mother, Grandma or Great Grandma, Happy Birthday and sounds like your birthday dinner was a lot of fun.

Everyone please keep June 14th open for Brigham City and the Beecher farm. I will be giving more details alittle later. One thing we will be doing is a picnic just above the Indian trail on second flatbottom. The view is incredible.

Grandma Reaches ANOTHER Milestone!

Just a reminder....Grandma Atwood/Beecher's birthday is this Saturday, January 5th. Please give her a phone call and wish her well. She will be 85 years young. Last year she kept a paper and pencil by her phone and wrote down the names of everyone who called her. This should tell us that it means a lot to her. Her phone number is 1-801-483-2398. Happy New Year 2008

We send greetings to everyone in this new year. We just figured out how to add to the blog, so we thought we'd drop a line. We had a wonderful Christmas and a fun New Year at Gean and Weldon's house with the gang. Ben, April, Derrin and I also went to New York a couple of weeks ago to have some fun time with out our kiddos. Other than that, it's buisness as usual. :) We love you all,

Happy New Year From the Hills

Many of we Hills are excited to be added as contributors of the Beecher Family Blog so look for some great new posts from all of us. We want to wish each of you a Happy New Year. Our hope is that 2008 has amazing things in store for us all! We were lucky enough to have Great Grandma Beecher and Great Grandma Hill included in our New Year's Eve festivities last night. With 14 Hill children ranging in age from 1 to 11 it was quite a celebration! Attached are a few photos of our fun night together! In addition, we learned on Sunday afternoon that our sweet Celeste and her husband Kris are expecting TWINS in June! We are all so excited and grateful for a double blessing of bouncing babies....this will add granchildren 22 and 23 to Weldon and Gean's collection.
