Hi Family,
Lori, Katie, McKenna and I are visiting a Bhuddist shrine in Japan last June. That was a fun trip and we enjoyed visiting with Linsey, Ben and the girls.
The real reason I am on the blog is to tell every one to save June 14th, the second weekend for the Beecher reunion/ memorial day. We will need every one with a four wheel drive vehicle to come and help take people up to second flatbottom for our picnic.
Also, we wish all of you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Years.

The Rivera Family

Lets remember Tonya this holiday...

For All Beechers,

For those of you who have not yet heard, (Kent's) Tonya and her husband Emerson are in need of our prayers. Tonya is expecting her second child, a boy, due in February. Recently the baby was diagnosed with Hypo-plastic Heart Syndrome, a medical condition in babies that involves the under-development of the heart. (For more information please refer to http://www.clevelandclinic.org/health/health-info/docs/3800/3807.asp?index=12214)

Babies with this condition will die within days to weeks if not treated. Obviously, Tonya and Emerson will be expecting treatment, either open heart surgery or a heart transplant performed on their new baby immediately after birth with great hopes for success. They are planning to move to SLC for delivery and care to be administered at Primary Children's Hospital for their little one.

For now, Tonya has moved in with her parents and her husband is commuting to Vegas for his job as they try to conserve funds for what lays ahead.

I have requested of Tonya to set up a family donation account through Zions Bank in which we family members that can help, may donate anonymously to support Tonya and Emerson through this difficult time. I am aware that this falls during Christmas when things may be tight, but, this account will remain open for several months available only to the Riveras for their needs as they may arise.

I do not feel comfortable posting the account # and information over the internet, so if you are interested in donating, you may call the Hurricane, UT Zions Bank Branch at (435) 635-4692 . Please ask for Lynette regarding the Tonya Rivera Donation Account and they can direct you from there. Otherwise, please call me, Nickie, at 435-843-9454 with any questions.

You are invited to reserve the first Sunday in January as a day of family fasting and prayer in their behalf.

Our hearts, prayers, and faith go out to you Tonya and Emerson at this time. What a special time of year to welcome a new baby into the world!!! Our hearts are with you.

I'm grateful to be a part of this family! Thanks for all that you do for each other.

Love, Nickie (Beecher) Isom

Merry Christmas to you!

Dear Friends and Family,

Once again another year, another season.
Not many of you we see for obvious reason.
We hope that this past year was filled with much cheer,
Time seems to fly for our little ones here.

Savannah is still so mild and sweet,
To be loved by her is such a treat!
Music and dance are her ideal girl world
With make-up, dress-up, and of course her hair curled.

Kindergarten is Savannah’s new joy!
She loves art projects, libraries, and any playground toy.
Lewis she claims as her prince she has found,
Already exchanged kisses on the playground.

Loral now two is our busy bee.
She is our songbird and bookworm on Mommy’s knee.
Always happy, singing, and wanting to play
Unless one dares not to give her her way!!!

Her letters, counting, and phone number she knows.
Her name she can write and vocabulary grows!
When asked her age, Loral usually will say
“Five”, for she admires so her big sisters’ way.

Chris and Nickie still the eternal students be.
Continuously trying to climb the ladder are we.
Appraising for Zions Bank is Chris’ latest move,
Nickie is finishing BYU with graduation soon to prove.

Warmest wishes to you this winter of 2007.
With one last announcement, straight from heaven.
Early next April, shortly before Loral turns three
A little baby brother for her birthday present will be!

Just in case we don't get our "cards" out in time this year, we wanted you to know that we are thinking of you and wishing you a very Merry Christmas.

Caldwell's Pumpkin Patch Adventure

We took the family to the pumpkin patch yesterday and had a blast in spite of a very windy day. Mason, Lilly and I went last Wednesday with his preschool group and enjoyed a very very warm day too.

Lynn Beecher Family Update (From Linsey)

We celebrated Benjamin's 30th birthday this month. I made him a BYU jersey cake since it is once again the season and that is what most of his conversations consist of. He even wakes up at 3am to listen to the games on the internet. True blue fan, what more can I say.

Two of my girls favorite activities. Dress up and tea parties.

I got this family photo from Brad recently. He hasn't posted anything so I thought I would post it for him. This is his wife Amy and son Chase with him. He is currently a student at the U but claims to still be a Y fan, at least in front of the family.

My Cuban Blood - By Chad

I'm sure that not many people know but I am in Tampa Florida this week (Aug 13-17). I am down here for business at the VA Hospital outside of Tampa (Bay Pines).

From my mission I learned to love Cuban food. Whenever I can, I eat Cuban. The rice, bread, and everything else is awesome. Someone suggested yesterday that I go to "The Columbian". I went last night and enjoyed every minute of it.

I had "Ropa Vieja" which means "Old Clothes". It tasted like Miami Florida circa 1993. It brought back great memories. Only this time I didn't have to ride a bike or knock on doors. :-)

I wanted to share this with everyone because I'm lonely and needed something to do.

Now I need to get out of here before a hurricane arrives.

No Men Allowed!!!

On Thursday, August 2nd all of us Francom women with Lyle's Lori went down to BYU for the annual Women's Football Clinic. Our husbands all suggested that we attend and even offered babysitting services for their children. WOW--we couldn't pass that one up! So we all signed up and attended. It turned out to be one of the highlights of our summer. Our blood runs "blue-er" than it used to! We started in the Cougar Room then we went to the locker room then up to the press box and finally onto the field. Our tour guide was someone named Max Hall. He said he hoped to take John Beck's place and all I thought was "of course, doesn't everyone?" and then I found out that he is THE new quarterback! We heard from Coach Mendenhall and he introduced all the other coaches as well as some of the players. Once we were on the football field we divided up into groups and rotated between six stations and did some practice routines. We rubbed shoulders with all the players--they were really kind to all of us women! Finally, we all sat on the field and watched a tape of some of the highlights from last year's season. It was great to be sitting in the spot that was responsible for such plays! All in all, it was a great time--wish all of you women could have been with us! If you're interested in going next year, let me know in about May and we'll all sign up together! Oh......none of us were even sore the following day.....yah, right!!!

Zac's First Day of School

I don't know about you but I think Zac was excited about going to school. Hugging his sister is another thing. :-)

HA!

Hey Scott...the new look of the blog is nice. I like how you found the most awkward looking pictures of the Beecher clan and posted them at the top...

What about that kid on the far right....did he ever amount to anything? ;)

Josh on a Mission

Here's an update on Josh from Lori:
"Josh is in the Majuro, Marshall Islands Mission. He is currently serving on the island of Majuro which is the capital of the Marshalls. While the island is only 3.75 square miles large, it is the largest atoll in the Marshalls. An atoll is the rim of an underwater volcano. Only bits and pieces of the rim show above water with a few more being exposed at low tide. Josh and his comp will "island hop" on P-days. They walk island to island in knee deep water at low tide. Josh has found many interesting things during this time - eels, fish, sharks and a WWII warhead. The Elders hauled the 50 lb warhead home as a memento. Turns out that the warhead was still live and the National Police had to come pick it up. The work is going well and Josh keeps busy. He loves the people and the islands. His testimony is strong and getting stronger. We will keep you updated. Love to everyone, Lori"

Here are just a few pictures of my family. I loved seeing pictures of Amy's family and would love to see some more family shots.

More Reunion Pictures!

....it's Karen again. The blog would not accept any more pictures and there are so many more to share!

July's Official Entry from Karen!

OK....according to the plan I must report in July. However, I appreciate all of you and what you have added to keep us all informed as you have gone into "Vern's Rubies." You didn't wait for an assignment.......THANKS!

Thanks to everyone for the effort you made in coming to the reunion. The bottom line is that we are a family and we really need to spend some time together so we will always want to care about each other...like for an eternity! I know we brought a big smile to my father's face. Someday, I'm sure he'll tell us how happy it made him to see us all together enjoying food, a hot day, water games, and visiting. I appreciate knowing that I can catch up on all your lives at least once a year and see how your families are growing. I especially want to thank my own kids for organizing the games and setting them up. I hope you all took time to look at the DVD that Chad made from old movies taken by Jan. Scott also made this blog possible. I will probably have lots of questions for him as I get used to it so please, everyone, ask questions so you can get going, too. Maybe I can even answer some of them as my computer knowledge increases! My family is the greatest and is always there when I need them. I appreciate Rick taking all the actions shots--I meant to but got a little busy having fun with our kids! We thought we'd share some of the fun with you all! Please know my love for you all and I have high hopes for the future of our family and for "Vern's Rubies"! Love, Karen

Words from Grandma

Hi, everyone!!! Even though I have lots of kind things to say to you all for joining in last Saturday and helping to get this "blog" off to a good start, I'm letting Grandma have the first word. She has spent the day at my house and I asked her to write her feelings about the reunion. Here it is!!! Karen

One of the happiest days of my retiring life was the day the Vern Rubies Beecher Reunion was held on Saturday, 7-7-07, in the Taylorsville North-Central Stake Bowery that Karen organized and brought us together!!! I counted the members of our fantastic, huge family who were in attendance together showing our deep love for everyone there. The total number of mother, sons, daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was 73 choice, adorable members of Vern Ruby and Yvonne Morris Beecher Family!!! Imagine the great love we all shared together as we enjoyed eating an excellent meal and cheered all as they played the fun sun and water games and finding candy and money in the big pile of wood shavings! This reunion we will all remember as we cherish it in our hearts forever!!! I can tell you that I know Grandpa Beecher was looking down on earth knowing what you all were doing and he was as happy as you were!!!

Thank you all for being part of my family. Thank you for coming to the reunion and for those of you who were too far away, please know that I missed you all. Please keep in touch and know that I pray for each one of you and know our Heavenly Father will always bless you if you live his commandments. I love you!!! Grandma

Mandy's Graduation

This is a picture of Mandy at her graduation in June 2007.
I too wish we could've been there at the reunion. It was fun to get the photos. Keep them coming...

Amy

Beecher Reunion 2007

Here are a few pictures taken at the 2007 Beecher Reunion.
